Community Closet

P&P recently opened a “Community Closet” onsite at La Casa de San Gabriel. It’s stocked with brand new children’s school uniforms, play clothes, pajamas, and hoodies. Needy children of La Casa families can come “shop” with their parents for necessary items.  We will keep the Community Closet supplied with inventory most needed for the families of La Casa.  One mother said her child had never slept in pajamas before receiving a gift packet from Pillows and Plenty.  Our hope is that every child has brand new, warm pajamas of his own and at least the basic necessities.  Our hope is that the Community Closet will allow all needy parents who use the services of La Casa to access the clothing their child needs, whether it be a new hoodie for school, new socks or a pair of pajamas.

Backpacks and School Supplies for the Pre-school Class

P&P had the honor of providing school backpacks to the graduating preschoolers at La Casa pre-school for the 2015 school year, complete with school supplies. We also donated school supplies for the classrooms. We have purchased the following for the students and classrooms:

  1. 16” backpacks for the 4 year olds in a variety of colors;

  2. 15” backpacks for the 3 year olds in a variety of colors

  3. Manuscript writing paper;

  4. Blunt tip scissors;

  5. Crayons;

  6. Pencils;

  7. Erasers;

  8. Bottled glue;

  9. Glue sticks;

  10. Pencil Sharpeners;

  11. Construction paper for the classrooms;

  12. Dry Erase markers for the classrooms;

  13. Jumbo pencils;

  14. Jumbo Crayons;

  15. 9×12 Ruled Lap Double Sided Lap Boards for the classrooms.
